Everybody has had that burnt-to-a-crisp feeling, and it doesn’t feel good. However, an herb from Siberia’s cold plains may help cool the signs of burnout.

German and Austrian scientists gave extracts of Rhodiola rosea to 118 people reporting symptoms such as emotional exhaustion and joylessness. After 12 weeks, the volunteers showed “quick and distinct improvement,” according to the journal Neuropsychiatric Disease and Treatment. One bonus: Participants also reported feeling friskier in the bedroom.
