Vitamin K May Boost Athlete’s Hearts

You may be able to enhance your performance through your supplement stash: Vitamin K2 has been found to increase maximum cardiac output by 12%. Scientists at the University of North Texas gave either K2 or a placebo to 26 trained male and female athletes. Improvements were seen only among the supplement takers. The study team noted in Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine that the changes seen in the supplement group could otherwise “take six to nine months of continuous training to achieve.”
